Boy celebrating Nouruz, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Sorry for the unintentional absence. I’ve been (somewhat) regularly updating my other blog, Ivory Pomegranate, and have let this one fall by the wayside. I took many lovely photos in the center of Bishkek during the Nouruz celebrations last week; this one was an early favorite. Stay tuned for more!

Kyrgyz woman, Leninskaya, Kyrgyzstan (at the Kazakh border). Sometimes when Kazakhs come to Kyrgyzstan to buy cheap goods, they will hire Kyrgyzstani citizens at the border to walk the goods across the borders to avoid paying customs and taxes.
